個人簡介

林彥廷（Eddy Lin）長期投入科技政策與民主倡議，兼具產業實務與學術研究背景，現為美國柏克萊加州大學法學院博士候選人（J.S.D.），研究如何規範AI生成之政治性言論。同時，他也擔任行政院青年諮詢委員會副召集人及李登輝基金會董事。

他曾負責Amazon在臺灣的公共政策與政府事務，亦任職於Meta亞太區公共政策團隊，與政府、產業及公民社會密切合作，推動多項涉及平臺治理、網路監管的政策協調。

林彥廷的公共參與始於大學時期擔任第30屆臺大學生會會長，其後成立臺灣青年民主協會並任創會理事長，多年來持續倡議「十八歲公民權」，該案於 2022 年成為臺灣首次交付公民複決的憲法修正案。他也與夥伴共同發起「青年民主返鄉列車」、《青年政策白皮書》等計畫，培力新世代積極參與公共事務。

他曾擔任科技、民主與社會研究中心（DSET）海外研究員、公共電視《青春發言人》節目主持人及臺北市議員辦公室法案主任。

林彥廷畢業於國立臺灣大學法律學系（2019），其後取得美國賓夕法尼亞大學法學碩士（2021）及國立臺灣大學新聞研究所碩士（2024）。他曾獲選為「歐巴馬亞太領袖」（Obama Foundation Asia-Pacific Leader）及紐約亞洲協會「亞洲21青年領袖」（Asia 21 Next Generation Fellow）。

Eddy Yen-Ting Lin works at the intersection of technology policy and democratic advocacy, drawing on experience in both industry and academia. He is a Doctor of Juridical Science (J.S.D.) candidate and Lloyd M. Robbins Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where his research examines how democracies should regulate AI-generated political speech. He is also a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center on Democracy at Cornell University.

He serves as Deputy Chair of the Youth Advisory Committee of Taiwan's Executive Yuan (Cabinet), and as a board member of the Lee Teng-hui Foundation, established by Taiwan's first democratically elected president.

Eddy previously led public policy and government affairs for Amazon in Taiwan, working with government agencies and industry associations on digital transformation. Before that, he was a member of Meta's Asia-Pacific Public Policy team, where he worked on AI and XR policy across the region. Across both roles, he worked with regulators, industry, and civil society groups to develop localized platform governance frameworks and co-led regulatory negotiations on user safety and election integrity.

His public engagement began at university, where he was elected the 30th President of the National Taiwan University Student Association. He went on to found the Taiwan Youth Association for Democracy and served as its founding Managing Director. He spent years campaigning to amend Taiwan's constitution to lower the voting age from 20 to 18. It passed the Legislative Yuan unanimously and, in 2022, went to the country's first-ever constitutional referendum. He also directed "A Ticket Back Home," a fundraising campaign that has subsidized travel for thousands of young voters returning to their hometowns to vote.

He has also served as a Non-Resident Fellow at the Research Institute for Democracy, Society, and Emerging Technology (DSET); as Policy and Campaign Manager for Taipei City Councilor Wei-Chieh Chiu; and as host of Youth News on Taiwan's Public Television Service, a current-affairs program for young audiences, which received a New York Festivals TV & Film Award.

Eddy was named an Obama Foundation Asia-Pacific Leader (2024), an Asia 21 Next Generation Fellow (2024) by the Asia Society, and an inaugural Asia Policy Leadership Forum Fellow (2026) by Salzburg Global.

He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and a Master of Arts (M.A.) from the Graduate Institute of Journalism at National Taiwan University, where his thesis examined the boundaries of free speech in the age of social media. He earned his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from National Taiwan University.

He follows Taiwanese baseball closely, seeks out live jazz wherever he travels, and is always glad to talk about either.
