林彥廷曾負責Amazon在臺灣的公共政策與政府事務部門,助力臺灣企業數位轉型、拓展全球市場;亦曾服務於Meta亞太區公共政策團隊,推動元宇宙與AI發展,並與政府及公民社會合作,建立在地社群媒體治理機制,參與多項監管法案的協調工作,以確保用戶安全與選舉公正。
林彥廷為社團法人臺灣青年民主協會創會理事長,曾發起「青年民主返鄉列車」募資、《青年政策白皮書》、十八歲公民權等倡議。他也曾擔任臺北市議員的競選與法案主任,並主持公共電視節目《青春發言人》,三度入圍金鐘獎。
林彥廷曾獲選為「歐巴馬亞太領袖」(Obama Asia-Pacific Leader)、紐約亞洲協會「亞洲21青年領袖」(Asia 21 Next Generation Fellow)及亞太區域網路治理論壇研究員(APrIGF Fellow)。
林彥廷擁有美國賓夕法尼亞大學法學碩士(LL.M.)及國立臺灣大學新聞研究所(M.A.)雙碩士學位,論文主題探討社群媒體時代下的言論自由界線。他畢業於國立臺灣大學法律學系(LL.B.),並擔任第30屆臺大學生會會長。
Eddy previously led Amazon’s policy strategy and government affairs work in Taiwan, and partnered with the public sector to drive digital transformation. Before that, he served on Meta’s Public Policy team, where he advanced XR and AI initiatives across the Asia-Pacific. He worked closely with policymakers and civil society to establish localized social media governance frameworks and co‑led regulatory negotiations to safeguard user safety and election integrity.
Eddy co‑founded and served as the first Managing Director of the Taiwan Youth Association for Democracy. He directed various initiatives, including fundraising to support youth participation in elections, crafting the Youth Policy White Paper, and leading the “Civil Rights for 18” campaign to lower the voting age, leading to Taiwan’s first‑ever constitutional amendment referendum. His previous roles include serving as Policy and Campaign Manager for a Taipei City Councilor and hosting Youth News on Taiwan Public Television Service, where he received a New York Festivals TV & Film Award.
He was named an Obama Asia‑Pacific Leader, an Asia 21 Next Generation Fellow, and a fellow of the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF).
Eddy holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts (M.A.) from the Graduate Institute of Journalism at National Taiwan University (NTU), where his thesis examined the boundaries of free speech in the social media era. He also earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from NTU, where he served as the 30th President of the NTU Student Association.
